Start Sprouting! http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2008:Gaia-239046 Fri, 05 Dec 2008 04:22:00 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2008/12/looking_to_eat_organic_and_local_this_winter_start_sprouting
~* A glimpse into a jar of green lentils all sprouted out and delicious looking *~

So I feel like a little kid right now, for a week now I've been sprouting beans and seeds and it is the coolest most rewarding activity I've done in awhile. We came across a book called 'Sprout For the Love of Every Body' a few weeks ago, it was written 30 years ago and is a basic how to for sprouting and indoor gardening. I've read it more than once now and roughly a week ago jumped right into growing them. It's been amazing.

Root veggies make incredibly nutritious sprouted greens, hooray c

My wife Chrissy and I have been eating primarily organic for some time now and most of the summer and fall we ate as locally as possible. This winter we knew our options for nutritious fruits and vegetables was going to be limited and when we learned about sprouting the answer was quite clear that we needed to get into it. Think about it, you cannot get any more local than growing your own organic food in your house. And of course another amazing attribute to eating sprouts every day (and ideally with every meal or juiced) is that you are eating a living food. The nutritional benefits of sprouts is truly mind boggling. Between sprouted beans, seeds, and grasses you virtually need little else in your diet. They have it all, complete protein, all the essential amino acids, the good fats, and once again they're freakin' alive!

Quinoa sprouting this morning from 1/2 inch of soil in a backing

Did I mention this is really fun to do and I feel like a little kid every day seeing these things grow before my very eyes? We have been graciously reaping the harvest of a couple of different sprouted goodies already and I can tell you it truly feels good to eat food that I lovingly helped to grow. We can all be indoor gardeners this winter and when you consider the economical benefit of sprouting beans and seeds, your paying for bulk organic seeds and you will harvest several times your original purchase as you sprout 'em up.

Mung sprouts 4 days in (the classic bean sprout in asian dishes)

The steps and process to sprout is mighty simple, you can grow them in a closet or cupboard if you'd like. All you need is wide mouth glass jars, water, a screen of some sort (cheese cloth works well), and if you soak them and drain them twice a day you will be rewarded with living, organic, super foods that you grew right in your own home. Doesn't that sound wonderful?

Beet and carrot tops I started growing a week ago.

With root vegetables like carrots, beets, and radishes if you cut 1/4 inch or so from the leaf end and place that in some water in a dish a little below the top in about 7 to 10 days you get to clip the greens and the whole process starts right back over. You add the greens to salads or just eat them right then and there, the chlorophyll (among many nutritional goodies) is incredibly healthy for you in these, it is after all one of the primary building blocks of all life on this blessed planet. It is similar to hemoglobin so it is essentially helping your body regenerate blood cells and keep you young.

I could go on for days about how much I'm loving sprouting right now, I won't though. What I will do is lovingly encourage you to look into it yourself, go on-line and research about it or get a book on it and get right into it. Your mind, body, and spirit will thank you for doing so. Remember, sprouts, like all living things responds to your energy and attitude so it is always beneficial to keep your growing environment warm, positive, and full of love.

Happy sprouting!

~Joe

~*~ Oh yeah, one more enlightening note to end on, if you sprout your beans (any and all can be sprouted) before cooking them in chili or any dish for that matter you will be delighted to know you will not have the flatulence usually accompanied with eating these foods. By sprouting your beans the gas agent is eliminated!

Tags: sprouts, living food, eat local, organic, grow, fun, seeds, beans, yes
Consciously Creating this Moment http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2008:Gaia-235024 Tue, 18 Nov 2008 06:04:24 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2008/11/consciously_creating_this_moment

                             ~* Multnomah Falls *~

I have to start by dusting my finger tips, it seems ages since I've released words in this medium and now I feel refreshed to acknowledge the act and exercise that is this writing. I have decided to put these thoughts to use by formulating sentences in an honest attempt to share something with you.

But it is more than just sharing, I look forward to humbly contributing to our collective consciousness through any and every possible expression of human potential.

Keep in mind I'm not writing this for your sake, I'm writing it for mine. It's a sincere admission and you are free to draw any conclusions from it you wish.

I have been practicing yoga more consistently and giving my body more attention so that through this awareness I can focus on areas that can be improved upon in my being. I also had a massage yesterday that is to be the first in a weekly exchange with my good friend Joshua, who earnestly stated to me that this will be an ongoing journey and that in a way I am his subject. His ultimate goal is to work out all points of tension while focusing on bringing me to my most pristine state of physical being.

I can dig that.

I realize that each moment has so much to offer and if I am ready and willing to face everything, especially the fear, and simply though boldly move in a harmonious flow then I'll be where I envision myself fully living, in every moment, consciously creating.

A natural pause presented itself between this sentence and the last, my daughter Joy awoke from her nap and so sweetly beckoned me to love on her. I was more than obliged, I sang and cooed to her instinctively as I came in to pick her up. I then began to prepare some food with my free hand for her all the while bouncing her in my arm still humming with nonsensical delight. This little girl nearly has me by the soul already. The brightness in her silver blue eyes that let's me know that it's all good right now and the future is going to be beautiful too.

I look forward to writing more and getting into the positive habit of doing so daily again. Alas this entry will be wrapped up for I will happily be snuggling with my wife and child for the remainder of the night. Cheers to every one everywhere, let us spin and flow into the light of tomorrow.

Love and Joy,

~J

Tags: joseph culhane, joy culhane, chrissy culhane, love, light, happiness, appreciation, human potential, conscious creation
Water, Breath, Better Living, and Blackalicious... http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2008:Gaia-180254 Sun, 06 Apr 2008 09:19:23 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2008/4/water_breath_better_living_and_blackalicious
~* Getting ready to hop on the Max and be transported to the Better Living Show *~

I could have added Blessings to the end of the title of this, instead, I use it here.

Blessings are our every moment.

Blessings make it all possible.

Blessings are gratitude's reward.

This life, how much fun can we make it? Remembering to breathe seems to benefit my reality, I'm guessing the same goes for you. That and a refreshing glass of water and you don't require much else right? Well, of course there is more to it than these but my goodness gracious goddess they sure do more than just help make the ride possible.

I attended the Better Living Show at the Portland Expo Center and it was quite an enjoyable and enriching experience. I gathered some good information (and ideally retained a fair deal of it as well) from a number of different groups/businesses/communities who are all dedicating a portion of their existence to making a difference. It was awesome.

It is great to be in a City that is so progressively and consciously flowing in positive directions. I love it here. When I think about the hiking, sight seeing, and disc golfing I haven't even participated in within such close proximity gets me stoked right up. All that and we have a garden that is just itching to get going in the back yard, oh my am I pleased with the present while also looking delightfully (and patiently) towards the future.

Blackalicious. Are you familiar with this musical group? Please, I encourage you to take a listen to them when you can. A nice quick way to check them out is to pop on to Pandora and start a new station and type them in, in a few seconds you'll have one of their songs playing, it's a pretty sharp program and website. You can listen to one song and then a half of a similar style one before they request you join, it is free, and then you have access to a really cool radio station that you guide. Getting back to Blackalicious, in my opinion they are quality and talent clearly heard and felt. How would I describe their sound/style? I'd say they're conscious moving, positive grooving, progressive hip-hop.

Well friends, my eye's are slowly but surely coming together, sleep is calling and I am ready and willing to answer. First I'll send loving waves out to the universe in the form of prayers, then while breathing deeply, I will drift into a delightful slumber and create magnificent dreams.

Yes, that sounds good.

Cheers to it all,

~J

~*~ I love Chrissy and Joy so much. ~* A funky perspective of a picture I took on our way through Oregon, Portland bound. *~

A couple of days and we'll have once again spun around the sun, sweet. What a delightful and fun concept to ponder. Let's see, let's see, what's new? Ah, my beautiful wife, sister in law Kim, and I went to The Golden Compass today, that was a pleasurable experience. I thought they did rather well adapting Phillip Pullman's book The Northern Lights to the screen, save for the abrupt and rather premature ending. Even so, the movie overall was great.

The next two books in the series are far superior to the first as it were, not to discredit the book that starts the series at all, it is of course an essential read for the character and plot development. The concepts that get entertained and played out through this trilogy really got my imagination (and spirit) soaring, and as it came to a climax I too felt satisfaction for a story well told and something that has left me asking even more questions then before.

It is late (or early if you like), I have had such a splendid day and night with my wife, and her sister, they are fabulous people and the three of us have made a fantastic Christmas Eve in Portland that will forever be embraced in my memory. To all of you everywhere I share my love, light, and energy with you and celebrate the gift and utter joy of being conscious of this blessed life.

~Joseph

~~Gander at some recent pictures if it pleases you here.

~~~By the by, Portland is awesome, we love it...
Tags: Joseph Culhane, love, light, baby, pregnant, the 5, portland, oregon, sunshine, divine, breathe
Creating a beautiful reality http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-147804 Wed, 19 Dec 2007 22:46:27 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/12/creating_a_beautiful_reality
~* A lovely snowy view from a rest stop in Utah *~
So this is it, right now, at this very moment, we are living out our vision.
How's it looking from your end?  Good I trust.
I like to ask questions and wonder, I like to also step outside of my "comfort zone" in order to fulfill my desires of living a light and loving life.  I am almost finished reading a very inspiring book by the name of Ishmael, have you read it?  You should if you haven't already.  If you are on this sight there is a fair chance you already have.
What I love about this book is the way it breaks down into very simple terms and scenarios how a great deal of humans live in todays age.  This book sings to my heart, it helps me to see how our collective global reality has come to be the way it is.  We are playing out a myth that has detrimentally impacted our precious home (Earth) and what I am so excited about now is the changing paradigms that are helping restore our relationship with each other, all of life, and this entire planet.
Fear and Consumption have played dominating roles for many of us in the past (me included).  What I stand for today is a shift towards consciousness, towards gratitude, and towards honor and trust, in ourselves and each other.  It is (in my humble opinion) time we embrace our feelings, take hold of our fears and use them to productively move forward toward the reality we all know we can have (and truly deserve).
I have been working on being more sensitive so as to heed the guidance of my intuition, when something does not seem right within it likely isn't right?  Reflecting on how often in the past I have had a brief moment of insight only to brush the thought away and do something different and then to look back and say, gee, I should of just followed my feelings.
It takes practice, and diligence, to remove all the past misguided influence's that I've accrued through my upbringing (I still love and am grateful for you mom and dad), the media, and society at large, and just like going to the gym to exercise my body, I must exercise my mind and spirit, focusing daily on living a more present, and mindful life.
These words are here for inspiration, a friendly reminder if you will, to let you know that it is okay to believe anything is possible, to see that each and every one of us is in charge of manifesting our destiny, individually and as a whole.  Let's continue to create a new myth for life on this blessed planet and restore the natural harmony and flow of this reality.
~Light and love,
Joseph
Tags: Joseph Culhane, love, light, sunshine, divine, breathe, cherish, Chrissy Culhane, beauty, wonderu, Harry Potter
One day closer to tomorrow... http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-133560 Tue, 06 Nov 2007 19:42:32 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/11/one_day_closer_to_tomorrow
~* My wife (in her sexy new glasses) and I at The Melting Pot, yes, it was delicious. *~
How much are you loving right now?  Me, I suppose I could be loving it more, I realized as I asked the question that I wasn't very present of my breathing, among other things.  I am thoroughly enjoying myself at the moment to be sure, there is always room for more though.
Today is the 6th day of November (depending on where you live I suppose), and in one months time, assuming all plans stay relatively in order, my wife and I will be on the road, on a splendid adventure driving towards our new home in Oregon.  I'm stoked.
So here is a breakdown of our plan as of right now:
December 5th:  Depart from the Twin Cities heading westbound, destination Boulder, Colorado and a two day visit with my good friend Jake.
(Roughly 930 miles and 13 hours drive time)
December 7th/8th:  Depart from Boulder and head to Zion National Park in Utah, stay for 2 nights.
(Roughly 625 miles and 9 hours of drive time)
December 10th/11th:  Depart from Zion and head to San Diego to stay with Chrissy's friend Justine and Scott for a couple of days, first stopping in Las Vegas for lunch.
(Roughly 470 miles and 7 hours drive time (up to 2 more with traffic in Cali though))
December 13th/14th:  Depart from San Diego and head up to LA to visit my friend Matthew for a day or two.
(Roughly 120 miles and 2 hours of drive time)
December 15th/16th:  Depart from LA and head up to Capitola/Santa Cruz area and stay with our friends Derek and Chas for a day or two.
(Roughly 380 miles and 7 hours of drive time (taking the coastal route))
December 17th/18th:  Depart from Santa Cruz and head up to the Redwood National Park for one or two nights of camping.
(Roughly 430 miles and 8 hours of drive time)
Finally arrive in Portland, Oregon and stay with Chrissy's sister Kim for a short time before finding our own place to call home.
(Roughly 340 miles and 6 hours of drive time)
What an ambitious trip eh?  We will see if this can be pulled off, I have high hopes but just like a leaf falling from a tree, we do not know the exact route we will take to our final destination.
Either way you slice or dice it we are bound for Oregon and will happily call it home in a little over a months time.  In a couple of weeks we also have a wonderful trip to Maryland to look forward to as we will be spending a week with Chrissy's family over Thanksgiving.
I have appreciated the time we have spent here in the lovely state of Minnesota, we have done and seen many things together here and now we get to look forward to sharing completely new experiences in an area of the country neither of us has been to before in Oregon.
How did we come to decide on Oregon as the place we wanted to live?  There are, like most all questions a great number of answers I could give.  We both feel a calling to the area, it is considered one of the most progressive and "green" cities to live in in our country, there is both a coast and mountains an hour from us in each direction, the old growth forests, an abundance of nature in general, the list could go on for ages...
Really, we are excited to embark on a new adventure and we have decided that Oregon is the ideal place for us to start our family together.  I fully trust that this is where we are supposed to be and that we shall thrive in and make the best of our situation once there.  Our dreams are big and our reality reflects that, I have described my life since meeting Chrissy as a fairy tale and the more I think about it, it really feels like one.  How cool is that?
Gratitude for right now, the only moment we have.  If we truly are all one and I love Chrissy, it follows that I love you, and then it would appear that I love me too...
I can dig it.
~Joseph
Oh yeah, I left out that shortly after we had made our decision to move to Portland, we heard about a website called findyourspot.com it is a fun site that shows ideal places for you to work, live, and play.  The trees in view outside are a blessed array of colors, here in Minnesota the foliage is beautiful though brief and I am glad to have spent as much time as I have outside enjoying it.
That brings me to share with you a wonderful weekend experience my stunningly attractive wife and I had.  We decided to go to an apple orchard in Afton, Minnesota and it was about as ideal a setting as we could imagine, the weather was gorgeous, we really had a fantastic time.  We picked apples, raspberries, and a pumpkin too, I believe we were there for four hours or so, we had that much fun.
What a blessed life and world this is, I am so thankful.
Perspective is everything and I tell you what, I'm perceiving a stupendous reality right now.  I am looking forward to what the future will be like while appreciating the present to the best of my abilities.  It is a minimum of 10 day fast of sorts where you drink a mixture of fresh squeezed lemons, grade B maple syrup, and cayenne pepper.  You also do a salt water flush every morning (which is a great deal of fun!).
I am stoked.
I've been doing some reading on peoples opinions on whether or not this is smart to do, safe, legit, and all that good stuff.  What I can add to the mix is my first hand experience with it, each time I took on the cleanse it revitalized my entire being and I approve of it entirely.
Since the first time I did this my eating habits (and lifestyle in general) has changed quite considerably.  I was mighty carnivorous prior to the first time I did the cleanse, I was also pretty unhealthy and I would guess anywhere from 25 to 35 pounds over my ideal body weight.  I am now primarily a vegetable eating human being though by no means an absolutist about this (or anything for that matter), I still occasionally eat fish and from time to time meat may make its way on to my plate.
I am excited to do give myself this cleansing experience again for many reasons, one of which is to get rid of all of the built up toxins and processed junk that I have for the most part carelessly put into my system.  The other reason is to clear my mind and body of the caffeine, alcohol, and marijuana that I have absorbed (most always in moderation mind you) since the last cleanse I did which was last summer.
There is really something to be said for the clarity and vitality I've experienced in the past through and after doing this cleanse, not to mention the rewards of mentally overcoming the challenge of not chewing on food for almost two weeks.  I have realized and caught myself slipping into auto pilot more often than I would like (ideally I would love to be here now always), what I mean by this is that my focus, my presence of mind and body wavers sometimes and I find myself being more lazy and/or careless and I do not like that.
I am not doing this to lose weight, true one of the side effects of this process is loosing an average of around two pounds a day, what I am more concerned with is purifying myself, loosing a couple of pounds in the process is alright with me...
Honestly though, I love to challenge myself and I also love to honor and respect my body and mind and feel that this is a great way to do just that.  This life is a whole lot of fun, there is beauty, magic, and wonder surrounding us at all times, I want to be present to receive and also create a part of that.  The Master Cleanse is a friendly reminder and gift to myself that allows me to really take a look at my actions and help me to realize what I am doing positively and negatively to myself and others.
It is in my best to be loving and truthful always, I am in the process of detoxifying my body of toxic and destructive energies and during this time I will be clearing my mind of these very same things.  Here's to enjoying the ride.
One last thing, I love my wife Chrissy more than any words or clever metaphor could compare, we are 18 weeks into our pregnancy and I am absolutely thrilled to be becoming a father.  I want to be the best person I can be now and always so that my wife and our child have the best opportunity to live and grow up with all the love and happiness that I can provide.
Aloha nui loa one and all,
Joseph
Tags: Joseph Culhane, Master Cleanse, Chrissy Culhane, fun, yes, pregnant, baby, sexy, Vision Force Boot Camp, love, light
Does it get any funner? http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-119569 Fri, 21 Sep 2007 03:01:13 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/9/does_it_get_any_funner
               The ears are just starting to really develop their ability to identify sounds at this point, I believe that through all of its senses and spirit it is absorbing what is taking place in it's general surrounding area (and everywhere for that matter).  That helps keep me mindful of the external experiences that I would like to be around, I like that.
It is getting late and I am getting tired, it is time to rest my eyes, mind, and soul so that I may be honored to life another day full joy, love, and wonder.  ~* Moments ago as I contemplated how thankful I am to be alive *~
Another blessed day is upon us and I am so delighted to be here now to share it with you.  Last night was quite an interesting experience here in Minnesota.  Most of you may have already seen or heard the devastating news about the bridge collapsing in Minneapolis on highway 35W over the Mississippi river.  I was roughly a mile south of the bridge when it collapsed, I was about to take the exit just before the bridge on to 94 East bound when it occurred.
My heart goes out to all those who were injured or killed during this accident and to all those family and friends of those people as well.  Tragedies like this are very intriguing to me and help me to remember how grateful I am for this wonderful experience we call life.
I had called my wife right after it happened to let her know I was alright, what I came to realize is that I have done a remarkably great job of not taking her (and this life in general) for granted.  What I mean by this is that I tell this woman I love her every chance I get and do my best to live to the fullest in every moment.
These kind of large scale disasters I believe help everyone to really remember what is important in this life and to realize that there is really no need to worry about petty matters and to put more attention and appreciation in each other and the wonderful things we are blessed to have in this life.
I am going to continue to do my best to show all the love I can to everyone I interact with and also to express my gratitude for all the amazing gifts that I am honored to receive daily.  A bridge has fallen and it reminds me to tend to my own bridges and to continue to strengthen the ones I have and to look forward to building new ones.  There is no room in this life to harbor ill will towards each other, there is however plenty of space for harmony,  happiness, understanding, and forgiveness with ourselves and with each other.
I am thankful for this day, to be so close to such a magnificent catastrophe is something I will appreciate now and always, this has refreshed and amplified my gratitude for this incredibly wonderful reality I am currently experiencing, may it do the same for you.
We are all a reflection of each other, when I look around and see this world and all the beings upon it I perceive divine beauty and purity.
I encourage you to consider taking a look into your own life and see if there is anything particularly negative you have been holding on to.  Whether it be something you consider as a personal failure that has stopped you from moving progressively forward with your life, or perhaps a feud you have been carrying with another or many other individuals, take that and release and detach yourself from it and realize that there is so many more wonderful things to focus your attention on.
Here is to making the most out of every moment, may I always remember this and progressively move forward with joy, light, and love at the forefront of my intentions.  We are all blessed and divine beings, may we all reflect that internally and externally as well.
Aloha nui loa,
Joseph
Tags: Joseph Culhane, 35W Bridge Collapse, 35W Bridge, Minneapolis Bridge Collapse, Green Source Center, Vision Force Boot Camp, love, light, honor, respect, joy
100 Blogs on Zaadz! http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-101458 Fri, 20 Jul 2007 16:33:55 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/7/100_blogs_on_zaadz
~* How is this for advertising a community yard sale? *~
Me oh my what a blessed life this is, another glorious moment to appreciate this amazing life is upon us, enjoy.
Cheers to deep loving breathes, with each inhale and exhale I am thankful.
So the time has come to spin up some fun and make the best of this life, this is my refresher course on remembering how wonderful this existence is.  To positively perceive and boldly believe that anything is possible.
When I take a look inside, you know, really delve into the inner realms of this reality I clearly can see the cosmic connectivity of everything, we are all infinity really.
Being that I see so much love and light I am more than compelled to shine bright and do everything in my power to share this with you.  The more I see this the more I see us providing a present and future filled with joy and happiness, and gratitude and appreciation.
There is so much to be thankful for.
I'm grooving out to Jazzelicious Presents and it is adding to my happiness tremendously, that and our friend Rachael just gave my wife and I a tent.  That is super cool, we are heading to Pine Point, in Iron River, Wisconsin before we get to the Twin Cities and we were planning on camping out for the couple of days we were there.
Pine Point is a cabin/resort that my family has been going to for over 30 years, this is actually the first year we will be going back there in maybe 7 years.  This is a very special place for many reasons, one of which is the fact that my mother went into labor with me while there so I have a real close connection with the place.
It is going to be so wonderful to be there for a couple of days and have a great deal of my extended family meet my beautiful and amazing wife, she is going to fit right in.
These last couple of days have been very enjoyable and interesting, we are in the process of organizing and deciding what of my wife's possessions will be sold, stored, and given away before we pack everything we can in our car and start our 17 and a half hour journey to Wisconsin.
It has been very entertaining seeing my adorable wife going through her myriad of clothing and taking countless trips with her down memory lane, this has been a good cleansing period for her, I sympathize with her and am proud of her for the amount of detachment I have already witnessed these past couple of days.  I mean seriously, she has filled 6 plus garbage bags of clothes alone that are to be sold at tomorrows yard sale and that which is not sold will be given away.
This community yard sale by the by is going to be mighty fun, we have been making many connections and several people have expressed interest in both selling and buying stuff.  What I really like about this is the idea of all of these goods being reused and appreciated  again instead of being sent to a garbage dump, everybody wins.
Well, my survival mechanisms are telling me that it is time to ingest some light energy in the form of food.  I am going to honor that and enjoy a delicious and nutritious lunch, what that will be I do not yet know but I imagine it being fantastic and so it shall be.
Love, joy, and light,
Joseph
~Here is to 100 more Blogs and a plethora of enjoyable moments and memories...
Tags: Joseph Culhane, life, love, breath, breathe, mahalo, aloha, The 5, fuck yeah, College Perk, Dreamscapes Project
Aum oon Aum http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-100710 Wed, 18 Jul 2007 05:08:38 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/7/aum_oon_aum
~* My sweet divine painting one of the signs for Saturdays Community Yard Sale *~
I am so very thankful for right now.  To be able to share this with you through these mediums of expression is really quite a marvelous and wonderful concept to behold.  I am grateful for the opportunity and capability to realize that I am the creator, and it is always a blessing to be mindful of the fact that I am also the destroyer (if I so choose of course).
So that places me in a space of opportunity, to decide in this moment and in every subsequent one whether or not to make this reality bright, light, and fun.  To take ownership and responsibility for my thoughts, words, and actions.  To do my very best to rest only when the mind, body, or spirit requires it and to at all other times be as awake and aware as possible.
Each situation I encounter I have placed myself in, the reflections I see of this reality are quite amazing, to take this in to account always is something I have enjoyed remembering throughout this life, now that I have this incredible wife and a baby on the way I have to humbly say that I am making this existence play out quite fantastically.
Learning with each new moment, growing and flowing with all the gloriousness that surrounds me (especially with my loving beauty).  I can see that it is great to have focus on what you stand for maintaining a vision for what is to come all the while staying pure in the present knowing that it is the only thing that ever counts.
I have been in a few conversations recently about near death experiences and death as the constant and only guarantee we have in this life, it has been very intriguing and I have derived great pleasure entertaining these thoughts intellectually with others.  One of the most integral things I have taken from the near death experiences aspect of it all is that whether we consciously acknowledge it or not, every single moment is in fact a near death experience.
Of course I embrace the fact that there are certain situations that people draw the closeness of the end of their life much more than other times but  truly when I consider it I realize that it can end in any moment and the more I am aware of this and mindful of that concept the better I become at remembering the preciousness of this life, always.
What a trip this life is!
Each breath keeps my life source flowing and I am grateful for this, each pump of my heart keeps me alive and allows me to take these glorious breathes, and my blessed brain is making it possible for me to interpret these thoughts, feelings, visions, dreams, and experiences and through my arms and fingers allows me to write these very words.  Many thanks to all the other integral pieces of my body that are here doing there functions so marvelously as well.
May I and you always remember to embrace this life and progressively move it forward, toward an ultimate reality of bliss eternally.
~Mahalo
Tags: Joseph Culhane, mahalo, aloha, love, light, sunshine, divine, breathe, cherish, Chrissy Culhane, beauty
Attitude of Gratitude http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com indubitablymeibe tag:gaia.com,2007:Gaia-98479 Wed, 11 Jul 2007 00:11:39 GMT http://indubitablymeibe.gaia.com/blog/2007/7/attitude_of_gratitude
~* My blessed and I cruising the other day to the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in D.C. *~
What a joyous life this is, I take these breathes deeply with love and gratitude for I am thankful to be able to experience each and everyone one of them.  I am sitting with my wife holding great sympathy and much supportive love for her as she is boldly embracing feeling under the weather, I'm so proud of her.
I look forward to all the coming days that will surely continue to bring new and wonderful adventures my way as my wife and I move along through this miracle called pregnancy.
One of the most incredible things as of yet that we have collectively shared together is a transferring of energies from my hand or hands to her tummy and our growing child within, I inquired as to what the sensations are like from her side and she explains it as feeling simply like receiving energy, she says that when she feels nauseous or anything it makes her feel better, I am honored and thankful to be able to help.
It is really quite odd and fantastic at the same time, I have felt compelled to place my hand on her belly and send all the loving intentions I can into my love and this little blessed creation inside of her.
Sometimes I use both hands and I slowly build friction between them and take deep breathes of gratitude before placing them just about a half inch above her tummy, I spin them palms down in a circular fashion all the while focusing entirely on directing joy, love, happiness, harmony, gratitude, and health to my beloved and our growing child within her.
It feels really good to share this exchange with my wife and to know that she welcomes it (when the time is right of course) is most wonderful, each moment is truly a blessing and I am so very grateful.
I just realized I have been eating many of my darlings crackers while she naps beside me here, I better wrap this up and let her sleep.  What a beautiful life this is, may we all continue to remember to do our part in making it shine as brightly and beautifully as possible.
Aloha and Mahalo,
Joseph
